In the Lapis of Luxury

Fashion, Luxury, Style

Blue may be the hardest color to find in nature, but this season’s runways told a different story. The rich hue is a current favorite of fashionistas worldwide and is easy to work into your wardrobe. It’s more versatile than it appears, especially with the color blocking trend still going strong. Some of my favorite colors to pair it with are black, maroon or oxblood (another color of the season), deep, rich greens (think forest or even emerald if you’re feeling bold), mustard, and tan.

Burberry Trench Two Ways

Fashion, Luxury, Style

love trench coats.  This black trimmed Burberry trench puts a slight twist on a classic item while still keeping it timeless and classic.  A trench coat is one of those fabulous pieces that you can dress up or down.  The black piping on this one makes it especially easy to dress up.

The more casual outfit has another one of my favorite items: riding boots.  These Gucci ones are fab and will last you forever.  The rest of the outfit is relatively inexpensive, but the quality pair of boots and the trench elevate the ensemble and really make it sing.

The red Versace dress doesn’t need much elevating…it’s pretty breathtaking all on its own, but great accessories never hurt.  The white point-toe pumps are trendy and add more sophistication to the dress rather than taking it away.  The clutch adds a pop of excitement with a pattern to an otherwise solid-hued outfit.  Add the trench and you’re ready for a night on the town, rain or shine.

Blush Coat Two Ways: Casual

Fashion, Style

I love dressing for winter.  There are so many textures and rich colors to play around with.  I’m loving maroon/burgundy colors for the fall and winter.  (You’ll be seeing a lot of them here the next couple of days!)  I also think the color is so beautiful against the blush color of the coat.

This knit is so wonderful.  I think that a beautiful cable knit should be a staple of everyone’s winter wardrobes.  It should be cozy, but fitted enough to look put together.  The black scarf is so great (who could complain about Burberry cashmere?)  I love scarves and think everyone should have at least a black one and a white one. They are really a great way to add depth to an outfit.

I also really love matching the bag to the pants.  It’s a play on the monochromatic trend without being too literal.  And the shoes and earrings are phenom.  All of the elements come together to make a beautiful fall-to-winter transitory outfit.
